'Buy more' and more and more. Where does it stop?
I just watched the documentary, 'Buy More - The Shopping Conspiracy' and it was very disturbing... We are consuming and consuming and it's scary to see there is no end to it all. It was an incredible wake up call for me and everyone who stops to watch and see the larger picture. Where are we headed and what are you doing about it?
We here at Fridge-to-go sell products. We sell quality products and encourage you to use them over and over as long as possible. We want you to use our products for years and years and encourage you to be aware of your habits and our throwaway economy. How can you consume less, extend the life of items and be aware of your actions? These are questions I'm asking myself.
Things aren't always built to last any more as this isn't the new growth economy as when you buy less, profits go down. We encourage you to buy for quality and longevity and think about how you consume. We love getting stories from parents of kids who used the same lunch bag their entire primary school journey. Yes, it means that less Fridge-to-go bags are purchased by you because they don't need to be replaced every 6-12 months and we encourage this! We want to hear more of these stories so please share.
You can see the trailer of the documentary here. I encourage you to watch this film on Netflix and educate yourself. If we can all become more aware of our habits, educate our children and talk about this, something has to shift.
Think about the world you want your children to inherit. This is very much our problem and we have to solve it together, one item at a time.
